Insurance
Modern veterinary medicine involves complex medical techniques and a range of new medications.
Insurance can be used for most illnesses and injuries and enables veterinary fees to be claimed back. The Health Plans we provide are not insurance.
Our team can help with direct claims for many companies. This means you only pay the excess on your policy (and a small admin fee) and we can claim the bulk of invoice directly with the insurance company.
We are unable to recommend a specific policy, but we can give you a few tips to watch out for when looking for a policy. Most insurance will exclude cover for any related illness in your pet’s clinical history. We therefore recommend taking out a policy when your pet is young and keeping it renewed. We provide access to a FREE 4 weeks policy pets under 1 year of age that has immediate cover follow a health exam. You are not committed to paying any follow costs, at the end of the 4 weeks the policy ends unless you intentionally sign up to continue.

Lifetime Policy
These policies provide cover for the lifetime of your pet. For example, if your pet develops a chronic illness like diabetes, the cover will continue when your policy is renewed each year.
NOTE: If you stop your cover or change providers whilst your pet has an illness it will likely become a ‘pre-existing’ condition on the new policy and not be covered.
Per Condition /Maximum Benefit Policy
The insurer will provide a defined amount of cover per condition. Once this is used up for that condition an exclusion will then apply.
NOTE: These are often advertised with high overall cover limits but then much lower PER CONDITION clauses. For example, the policy may be £5000 overall cover and appear cheaper than the lifetime options, but the per condition clause may only be £1000. So if your pet has a broken leg, you will only be able to claim within the £1000 allowance. The remainder of the £5000 cover could only be used on unrelated problems.
Annual Policy
These will cover costs of treatment for 12 months from when the problem was first identified, after which the condition will be excluded.
Accident Only
These policies just cover an accident as defined by the insurance company e.g. road traffic accident
